Known commonly as 'TV's Adam West', the 1966 Batman star has passed away at 88 years old from Leukemia. I am a huge fan of the 60's Batman series, short-lived as though it may be. I've loved it since I was a little kid. Watched it nearly every time it played on TV Land, and still watch it to this day. I even have a nightgown with the classic Batman logo on it. Adam West being gone makes me feel like a bit of my childhood died.

Despite being severely typecast and suffering financially because of it, Adam West eventually embraced and loved his role as Batman and was well-known for his eccentricities, but he seemed like a really great and fun guy. In more modern days, he was more well-known for his role as Catman in Fairly Oddparents and Mayor Adam West, which is basically an exaggerated version of himself, on Family Guy.

Rest in Peace, Mr. West. See you in a future Bat-Time on heaven's Bat-Channel.

Adam West will be missed. May he rest in peace in his Bat Mobile.
