As a lone settlement structure near the entrance of Mount Moon, the Pokemon Center usually didn't get much action.  The most that ever happened would be an initially quiet discourse between a fresh trainer and a shady character who would approach him.  Then it would become a louder exchange of heated words, so that the rest of the Center's residents would hear.

"Come on, it's only five hundred yen.  I'll even throw in this gold-plated pokeball, absolutely free!"

"For the last time, no!  I don't care about a sucky level five Magikarp.  I know what it turns into, but I'm not waiting that long!"

Nurse Joy looked up tiredly at the merchant whom she had grown accustomed to seeing nearly every day.  "Ruff, do I have to call the K-9 force in again?  You're hassling all of our visitors."

"No, 'm."  Ruff backed away sheepishly.  He had never revealed his actual name, but Nurse Joy had taken to calling him "Ruff," because it was short for "ruffian."  While he never forced himself upon anyone or attempted to steal, it was common knowledge to everyone in the area that Ruff was a snake oil salesman.  Nurse Joy sometimes contemplated throwing him out, but she could never go that far.  Ruff's prices were highway robbery, but they were petty, too.  When he wasn't trying to make a sale, Ruff spent his time as a fisherman, trying to haul up something other than Magikarp with his Old Rod.  To date, he hadn't succeeded.

On top of Ruff's lack of being a threat, the area had bigger problems anyway.  Team Rocket, a notorious gang of pokemon-using criminals, had been reported to be appearing regularly around the area.  An undercover police officer would hang around the center, sometimes obvious about who he was, and sometimes, under secret guise.  Today, he had dressed himself as an elderly man with a fake white moustache, and sat reading the newspaper.  The headline read "Why The Uniform?", featuring a photo of a Rocket member half-hidden by a rocky outcrop, taken by a hidden camera.

The tranquility of the Pokemon Center was restored for about five minutes after Ruff's most recent failure, when suddenly, two people came in, shouting so loudly that the whole population could hear.  Because both of them were talking, the speech was incoherent, but the scene was a strange one indeed.  In front, hunched forward with both hands cuffed behind his back, was a man in full Rocket garb, which consisted of all black except for the bright red "R" on the shirt.  He wore a cartoonish, stereotypical burglar mask over his eyes to hide his identity.  Behind him stood a serious-looking younger man in his upper teens, also wearing almost all black clothing, but his was a traditional samurai kimono- or so it appeared.  His most unusual feature was unnaturally white-dyed hair, which came down to his lower back in a braided ponytail.  The sight might have been comical if it weren't so serious, and a no-nonsense expression was all over the boy's face.  The "undercover" officer jumped to his feet with an expletive, then marched hurriedly over to where the two newcomers still stood barking oaths at each other.

"Kenta Daitan!" he snapped in a demanding voice, "what is the meaning of this?  . . . Are those plastic handcuffs?  What did you do?"

"This . . . this kid . . ." the Rocket almost sobbed, "he threw a flash grenade at me!  The little son of a **** burned out my eyes!"

"I didn't mean to!" protested the other young man, who was Kenta.  "He challenged me to a battle, and I just automatically reached for my pokeballs, and I must've grabbed the wrong thing-"

"A GRENADE!  What kind of child carries around a " *profanity* " grenade?!  I shouldn't be locked up, he should!"

So snapped the tension between the local law enforcement and the Rockets encroaching upon the region.  Little did anyone know that this one incident would snowball into an international crisis.

Johnny Storm
FireMartialArtist
Route 4 -> Cerulean City

After many days of making his way through routes and bushes from his hometown of Cinawood, he was not that far from reaching Cerulean City, he decided to take camp outside the long grass for the night to take rest.

The next morning, like a trained machine Johnny woke up exactly at 7:00 AM, no alarm clocks, no sounds, nothing except his brain being set to awaken at that time. Taking a big deep breath of fresh air, he quickly slipped into his clothes and grabbed a few berries from his bag. He cheerfully threw one into the air catching it with his mouth, as he reached for his belt to get a tiny little pokeball. By pressing the button, it opened up releasing a fiery red monkey, jumping up and down in joy. "What have you been eating, Tartarus?" Johnny playfully said as the Chimchar climbed up his body and took position onto his lower neck.

Johnny packed up his camping items, and set off in the long grass to collect some more berries for breakfast, as he was running short. It was not long after suddenly Johnny found him self knocked on his back side with pain in his abdomen. He was taken off gaurd by that strike, and yet found himself to be more intimidated by a blurr, roaming around him with great speed in random directions. As finally the creatury slowed down, it appeared to be a green monster with sharp scythes for forearms.

"Scyther: It Is nearly impossible to parry its attacking scythes. Its movements are like a ninja's."

"A ninja pokemon with swords for arms, epic much?" Johnny smirked.

"Hey Tartarus, how about we go show him what fire can do to a pretty little ninja?" Instantly the Chimchar was in a battle position set for action "Tartarus, use Ember!" Johnny said as he pointed at the green pokemon.

{{Hope this is a good start, wasn't really sure what to do, been a LONG time since I RPed, and I even sucked back then}}

Avus Belmonell
RockRanger
Celadon City (Beneath Game Corner)

“You’d think they would’ve done something with this place, instead of letting it gather dust…” Avus thought aloud as he flipped a large switch and brushed it clean. Heavy fluorescent lights lit the large, musty room.

“Dust,” Olivia, his Floatzel, parroted the word with strange punctuation, examining the film of grimy powder on top of an old, wooden desk. Her master had been making a point of teaching her to the point where she could fluently converse with a human—a time far from now. It was an old office in what had been Team Rocket’s hideout beneath the game corner in Celadon. They had since moved and dispersed their old hiding spots, however, the knowledge of its existence made it a sort of public office—perfect with the, “extension of activity,” that seemed to be trending among businesses in general.

“Well, other than a place for bums to sleep, it has no other use. It helps that you can’t just force the door without military-grade explosives.” A woman old enough to be his mother had trailed in behind, wearing a traditional Team Rocket uniform. Out of the public eye, there was no need for any sort of disguises, which agents had taken a liking to wearing when it would be more convenient to avoid attention from do-gooders and the law. “Let’s get this place cleaned up and tell the Boss. He’ll be happy to hear we still at least own this part of the casino.”

“Yeah…I take it you’re the shadow I heard about?” Avus was aware he had an agent following him ever since Team Rocket regained the size to use the buddy system. He had recently been informed he had a single backup agent just in case he was ever in danger of being compromised. The loss of a good ranger wasn’t something that could be stood for. Far too much information to be lost or handed over to the authorities.

“Maybe?” It was enough of an answer to satisfy a Rocket that had confidence about them. While it made Avus roll his eyes, he decided not to worry over details and swept a cloud of dust clear of the desk with the sleeve of his coat.

“Can’t wait to get this place up and running again. Then I’ll have my own base of operations away from my base of operations.” The ranger grinned as he placed a heavy briefcase on the desk. Both clamps that kept the case shut were locked with simple, rolling number combinations and it swung open to reveal a screen on one side of the interior, with a keyboard on the other, slightly propped up to reveal rows of item-carrying capsules beneath. “So, while the PC powers up, you care to tell me who you really are?”

Seth Williams
Gym Leader in Training
Viridian Forest

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The scurrying of wild pokemon all around him seemed to have Seth on edge, as he traversed the large forest at a somewhat slow pace. His eyes took in every inch of the path, he was currently travelling, hoping to spot any potential signs of danger. The seemingly endless varieties of lush, vibrant trees offered plenty of hiding spots for wild pokemon and thus made his task ten times harder. His right hand tightly clutched Almia’s enlarged pokeball, as he continued to make his way through the thick forest.

Seth recalled the advice he had read when he was at the Poke Center earlier today. As long as he stuck to the path that he was currently travelling and kept up a decent pace, then he should be out of this so called natural maze in ten minutes, the most. Unfortunately the terrain deep inside the forest made it difficult to traverse and thus had cut his pace dramatically.

“Why don’t you just let me scout out the exit for you?” A little girl’s voice, that seemed to come from nowhere, asked “I’ll be back before you even know I’m gone”

The black haired teen quickly recognized the voice, and looked to his right where his Misdreavus hovered silently. Seth allowed himself to take a break in order to answer Almia’s question and slightly recuperate after the trek through the forest so far.

“It’s too risky,” Seth replied “it’s best if we just stay on this path and try to get out of this forest as quickly as possible”

“I can handle myself fine without your commands and plus I’m sure we passed the Beedrill nest a couple miles ago.” Almia replied, as she flew in front of his face “You’ll be safe here”

Before the black haired could respond, the distinct sound of wings fluttering could be heard coming from one of the many trees to his right. In a matter of seconds a Butterfree emerged from behind a nearby tree, and stared at the duo, almost as if it was daring one of them to make a move against it. Almia instinctually placed herself in between the wild pokemon and her trainer in hopes that it would back down, but this jester was misunderstood as a challenge by the Butterfree. The butterfly like pokemon let out a battle cry before charging towards her opponent.

Kenta Daitan
Special Forces ("Silhouette") Intern
Mt. Moon Pokemon Center

After the Rocket had been apprehended, Kenta found himself seated in the Center's single bathroom, across from the undercover police officer.  The older man half-sat-half-stood on the sinkbowl with his arms crossed, while Kenta sat upright and at attention on the covered toilet.  The scene might have been hilarious if it hadn't been so serious.  The door was locked, and a bare bulb hung overhead.  Kenta glanced around, then focused his attention on the officer.

"So, this is the only area in the whole Center where we can talk privately?  This place is kinda like a barracks, huh?"

"Don't bring back any bad memories," grumbled his interrigator.  "I'm sure that both you and I want to get out of here as soon as we can, so I'll get right to the point.  Did you really throw a flashbang at that man?"

"Yes, but it wasn't on purpose-"

"That's not the point!  Where did you even get something like that?  Such dangerous weapons are for military use only!"

Kenta lowered his head.  "I'm sorry, Officer Taketo," he said, "but I'm not supposed to reveal that."

The policeman stopped, appeared to think for a moment, then sighed.  "Look, Kenta," he said in a much quieter and gentler tone.  "I know you admire Leutenant Shen, and he supports you, but you shouldn't keep accepting his unorthodox gifts.  Not even if he insists that they'll help you survive against the Rockets.  We have enough mischief on our hands as is, and we'd like to quell it without accidentally causing it to erupt into outright terrorism.  I'm asking you, not as a superior officer, but as a man who just wants to live a peaceful life-"

At that moment, there was a loud rap on the bathroom door.  "Will you hurry up in there?" came a muffled, but worried-sounding voice from the other side.  "I gotta drop a load!"

"Wait your damn turn!" barked Taketo angrily.  However, the knocking persisted.  "I've been holding this in since Pewter City!" shouted the guy outside.  "You have no freakin' idea how my pants smell right now- but you're going to!"

"Why didn't you go way back there?" snapped Taketo, then sighed.  "Forget it.  Just be more careful from now on, Kenta.  Dismissed."

Avus Belmonell
RockRanger
Celadon City (Beneath Game Corner)

“Me? I’m nobody important, just a shadow,” the woman said, tugging on the cuff of her white gauntlet. “Just a little assurance for when you’re in dead zones or rough neighborhoods.” She winked and took a stroll around the room, flipping a few artificially long locks of dark hair as she did. Avus only glanced over his shoulder, one cheek as tensed as he could make it.

“Sure…” the ranger sighed as he pulled a short antenna from a corner of the laptop, quickly typing a few commands into a console with his free hand. In a few seconds, a tall window opened, the white rectangle contrasting with the blank background of the relatively clear desktop. After a few more keystrokes, Avus finally got through to the main channel, reserved for announcements.

{RRLooker | KJHL == The Old Office is open for business. Renovations needed, could use a hand. Desk is fine, though.
{RRSeer | IUYO -= Responding. In Yellow World, ETI 1 hour. I love shopping.
   *RRSeer has quit (Connection terminated)

“Okay,” Avus said to himself, breathing a sigh. “May as well clear off some of this dust while I wait.” The young member of Team Rocket closed the laptop and locked it shut, turning around to better observe the space around him.
