That's right. This will be a contest to see who will be the next Aisenfield Idol. I'd really like to compete, but unless I can find another judge or three, I will be doing the judging. However, I may open up the judging to a poll. I'm hoping for us to get a lot of forumwide attention from this.
So the deal is that you will be submitting a video of yourself (post it on YouTube, Vimeo, etc...) and link it to Aisenfield.
Each session, I (or the judges) will decide to weed out contestants that we feel didn't shine in their previous video. If there are two with a tie for last place, then we'll kick all of them out, etc...
Rules:
1. The video must be of you. If you submit a video that's not of you, then you will be disqualified. (trust me. I'll probably be able to figure it out.)
2. You must be the only one singing. You can't submit a video of you in a choir, but you may post vocal solos of things you have done before.
3. The song may be jazz, pop, from a musical, rock, or classical. It must be tonal. No rap, skat, or beat boxing. That's retarded.
4. The first entry must be acapella. Every song after that will require an instrumental backing. (download it online or use YouTube)
5. You may do duets with another member after entry one, but that's just insane and almost impossible to coordinate and you may want something to fall back on.
6. The first entry is due by July 15. That's a whole month away from now. You have time.
If you don't think you're good at singing, then tape it anyways. You may have a bizarre hidden talent.

I will be posting a video just for the hell of it and in the hopes that someone will be able to step up and judge or if I get enough response to vote. Judging spots are open. If you would like to judge, but not submit, then please feel free to contact me or post here.
I now declare the first Aisenfield Idol open!

Well, if not enough people will participate, I'll withdraw my request to be a judge and enter...but I can't really tape myself. :/ My parents have a thing against putting my face up on the 'Net. -_-;

Ah, here's a question for ya, PB. What's the max and minimum length of a song? Like, I know of a song that is literally 45 minutes long. :/

Um.... We'd all prefer not to have a 45 minute song. I'll put the cap at 15 minutes, I guess. I'd prefer it if it were just 3 to 7 minutes, though. Anything beyond that will affect the listener's opinion of your ability unless you're goddessly or godly amazing. |

Ok, I absolutely hate listening to myself sing, and after many attempts, I'm just going to post one. The song is "What You Own" from "Rent." It's only the first verse, but I didn't think this first one should be that long. I'm not sure what kind of "performance" we're supposed to give, so I just sang it like I would at an audition. Well, here ya go!
