Hey guys, in a few weeks, I have a scholarship audition that I need to play on either french horn or bass, and I was thinking doing both would be doubly cool. The trouble is that I don't know any great bass solos. My teacher suggested taking a song we played (The Chicken, by Jaco Pastorius) and editing it to be a solo, but if there is a bass solo that already exists, I think that would work better.

So far, I've considered "Anesthesia- Pulling Teeth", by Metallica, but only the first half. However, I decided it was way too rock-esque.

Then I looked at "Portrait of Tracy," also by Jaco Pastorius, but it's all harmonics, and I might not be able to learn it in time.

So I was just curious, does Aisenfield know any good solos?

I dunno quite what you're looking for, but I think Marcus Miller is a pretty groovacious guy. He's probably got something cool for you to do. o:
