This year's presidency was the first thing I've ever been able to vote for. But I didn't vote then because I didn't feel I knew enough about either candidate to make an informed decision.

You could have voted for your congressional candidates, though?

Well instead of bitching people should stop asking for loans from banks.  AIG would fall again, and hopefully HOPEFULLY the governement won't be so stupid again.

The bonuses had to be paid off because some greedy bastards were going to sue AIG.  So if AIG was sued, all money from the multi-billion dollar bailout would have been in someone elses' hands.  Thus, the bailout would have been pointless.  AIG may be bastards, but they're smart and reasonable bastards.  It's not fair the bonuses were distributed, but it's also not fair that someone else would get billions of dollars just because they didn't get a bonus?  Plus, the government will most likely be keeping an eye on the other...what...139.5 billion dollars in the bailout?  Money like that won't be hard to keep track of.  If it's not, I'm moving to Canada or Europe.

EDIT:  I forgot to comment on their ignorance...THEY'RE IGNORANT BASTARDS!

Well, if AIG was sued, the plaintiff wouldn't get a large chunk of the multi-billion dollar bailout, a billion dollars, many people seem to forget, is a LOT of money. And the money we gave for these bailouts isn't easy to track, otherwise we would have been able to prevent these bonuses from being given.

Also, on the note of voting, it's understandable that you didn't vote given your circumstances, it's better not to vote than to vote uninformed. In addition, even if you didn't vote at all, the blame for the loose restrictions on the bailout money falls on Congress. The responsibility to change these mistakes falls on the voter, so just vote in the next election.

The problem is, we need those loans. I have to get a student loan to go to college next year, because my dad lost his job.

Yeah, the worst thing to do now that we've given the money would be to not take out loans. If we hadn't handed out gifts, then maybe that would work, but if we do that now, we're burning our taxes.

That be the truth. The whole idea of the bailout was for the government just to give the people their money back, not the executives who have enough money to begin with.

The funny thing is that they'd like us to think that they don't have enough money.  I hope you're all taking notes, this is how to get a multi-billion dollar bailout.  It may come in handy in the future  Wink.

Maybe we should just send Jack Bauer on their asses...Maybe DT too...maybe it would be best if she went alone...

So this is kind of related, but it's still awesome and I'm sure we'd all appreciate this.
