Hey what's up rady, I lost track of when you stopped lurking but noticed you'd stopped...

I'd say things have kept up despite the few members, with the most posted in section being the forum games..  Remember when that used to be the blogs?

That's interesting Doru, very interesting and yes I do remember spamming the blogs. I also remember how random the games were.

And yes, I do remember you Picard. I remember a lot of things, hell, I even remember you banned me on Crater once. Haha. But that's all poison in your coffee now..err.. I mean water under the bridge. I am bad with expressions like that. Just kidding, thank you, its nice to be back, the memories are so..... many.

What does everyone think of After Earth?

Apparently it's really boring...

So says Jeremy. Spoony hates the movie, more or less. Don't have high hopes for it, myself.

Also, hi, Night. Tyren or KyogreDude here... That second name makes me cringe a little for some reason.

What does everyone think of After Earth?
Two of my friends say it's good and critics are shredding it solely because it's M. Night.

Guess I need to check it out.
But I wanna see Now You See Me and The Purge first.
And of course Man of Steel comes out next week.

I've been waiting for Man of Steel for so long, I have high expectations. I was kinda disappointed by by Ironman 3 TBH. It WAS an awesome movie and everything, I just hoped it would be better. But maybe that's just me and my complete utter obsession with Ironman.

Saw Now You See Me Thursday night, was pretty awesome. Liked the fight scene :D

I agree with you about I3 rady, liked it and everything but so far the first seems to be the best for me. Wasn't really excited for MoS until early this year, can't wait wait to see it now. Then after that, the wolverine..... And I forget the other movie in July....

Ironman 2 and 3 were disappointing, although that is not to say that they aren't enjoyable. The movies are very entertaining, but with regards to them as Ironman films in comparison to the first, they're not very impressive. I suspect the Wolverine movie isn't going to be very impressive as well.

I just would like to comment on the fact that a community that has one way or another survived almost 5 years or so emerged from just a bunch of people playing an online Pokemon game.

Well, I didn't really play PokemonCrater's Pokemon game. I kinda spent all my time on the forums instead. I only decided to play the game much later.

I just saw The Wolverine trailer in theaters yesterday (Went to see Fast and Furious 6 because my parents have movie theater gift cards that have been rotting for a year or so and they felt the urge to see a movie that's constantly the same thing. For anyone wondering, it was a pretty good 'turn off your brain' action movie. Oh and this movie has a tank.) and it just looks like a slightly different X-Men Origins Wolverine this time in Japan...or was it China?....I forget. It doesn't look interesting at all to me.

After Earth kinda surprised me. I didn't think really anything of it before it was released but then it got SLAMMED by critics. I didn't even realize it was an M. Night Shyamoron directed it until I saw it in a Yahoo! news entry. Now I have to wonder how bad this movie actually has to be if even the biggest ego in director-dom won't plaster his name all over the trailers. I don't mean to damn a movie before I've seen it, but damn.

I really wanna see Now You See Me, but that could be biased because I adore heist movies.

The Purge also looks fairly interesting.

I love the Iron Man movies, so I really wanna see IM3, but the reviews are so mixed. So many people say it's awesome, and so many people say it's incredibly disappointing.

I played the game fairly regularly, but I think I kinda fell off a month or so before the end of the site for some reason. I was mostly immersed in my blog and the general community. Also my sprite shop. Now that I'm thinking about it, Pokemon Crater was even more brutal than the actual Pokemon games. In the actual games, you have hundreds of Pokemon to catch as well as Shiny versions. In Crater you had hundreds of Pokemon to catch as well as shinies, metallics, shadow(?) and I think there was some other version towards the end too. I do miss the old place though.

I started with the game for a little while, and then gradually dropped off in favor of the forums. I'd say it paid off.

Iron Man 3 is totally worth seeing. The fact of the matter is that it is an entirely competent, well written, well directed, and entertaining flick. The problem is that the first film set the bar so high (especially for me, as it is my all time favorite Hero movie) that you're bound to be left disappointed by the sequels.

Fast and Furious 6 is, by far, the best blockbuster so far this year. I don't know how, but Fast 5 and Fast 6 just revamped and re-energized the entire series. The new writers and adding The Rock to juxtapose Vin Diesel was one of the smartest moves they've made so far. I had so much fun watching the movie, and that's all I want from a blockbuster.

Star Trek is also incredibly good. In all honesty, the big blockbusters of the year: IM3, StarTrek, and Fast 6 are incredibly strong films. It really is a good year for blockbusters (especially compared to the last two years, blech). My only issue with Star Trek was that it felt too contained. They didn't expand upon the world at all and because it doesn't take place within our world as Fast6 or IM3, I really feel disappointed when a movie that does, doesn't expand upon their established world.

I wasn't at all excited for Man of Steel until I saw the trailer in front of Iron Man 3 in IMAX 3D. That trailer just blew me away between the visuals and 3D that I want to see the movie solely for that. Add in the fact that Michael Shannon is playing Zod--a character from Superman I know almost nothing about--and that it looks like Nolan had A LOT of influence on the direction of the movie, makes me very excited. At first I was mehh about it because I literally couldn't give a **** about Superman as a character and I can't stand Zack Snyder as a director (he really should just do cinematography or art direction), but now I'm intrigued. I really want this to turn me into a Supes fan.

Monsters University and This is the End, however, ARE the movies to see. Monsters Inc is my favorite PIXAR movie of all time and I was left absolutely giddy and in love with University. And This is the End made me laugh more than any movie I've seen in theaters in a long, long time.
--If you're wondering how I saw them, my school does frequent events for pre-screening of movies and I was lucky enough to be able to attend.

Ah yes, Star Trek. The second one may not be better than the first (for some, personally I think it's better), but it's definitely pretty damn good on its own. It builds off from the first movie, continuing Spock and Kirk's synergy with each other. And Benedict Cumberbatch is magnificent.

I need to see more movies to be able to comment more. Zega give us a few of your screenings I need movies D:

This is the End looks brilliant though I've been waiting like six months to see it.

This is the End is absolutely hysterical. You're gonna love it. I'm seeing it again tomorrow before seeing Supes at midnight.

I like the new Star Trek - though probably due to all the references to the original series which I get this time around. Cumberbatch made the film much greater than the previous one - he needs more main roles as villains or as antiheroes. I did love his Holmes.

On IM3... I dunno, IM3 felt like a letdown. They tried to stay true to the comics, and that's a good thing. It's just so fast-paced though - comic books work because each issue tells a fraction of a story. Movies tend to have to start and finish an entire story in approximately two to three hours, and there just isn't enough time in general to sort out all the loose ends. Like why on earth has Tony given up on the company when he could be working R&D and helping it out in the way he would be best at. That and the fact that they kept killing off his villains, which makes it somewhat difficult to justify person-x attacking him. Wolverine has a lower mortal enemy killcount, for gods' sake.

On F&F6, I thought that this one was to be the grand hoorah - which was why I was excited. Now... kind of still hyped for #7, but it does feel a little contrived. I like the revealed new actor, but unless the Rock is stepping out, I don't see how the series can afford three big names the same amount of screen time. He also isn't well-known for playing villains, so how this will pan out is a mystery to me.

Films I'm looking forward to? Monsters Uni, as I loved the first one, and The World's End, by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Which is the third in their "Cornetto Trilogy" - the first two being Shawn of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. But it's a British film full of British humour, so whether it is released in the US I dunno. Kinda want to see Man of Steel as well, but I'm not too bothered due to the presence of General Zod.

Waiting for The World's End, too. The first two were brilliant. No doubt this one's gonna go the same way, as well.

We've gotten the last two, which were fantastic, so I assume we'll be getting this one too.

On the subject of F&F7 I did hear somewhere that the rock wouldn't be in it. Don't remember where so that could be false... If its being filmed around well.. Now I'd say he wouldn't be in it seeing as he'll be filming that Hercules movie.

Still need to see the new Star Trek as well as a bunch of other movies.

Man of Steel was pretty damn good as a superhero movie. Cavill killed it as Clark kent, as did Russell Crowe as Jor-El, and a few other actors in their roles. Lots of flying and overt action during the combat scenes, but it works plenty well. The ending is excellent, though I won't spoil it for anyone who has yet to see it.
